A modder added Elden Ring’s message system to Fallout: New Vegas and included better rewards for earning higher ratings. FromSoftware’s Elden Ring has garnered a lot of attention for its in-depth RPG elements, with some indicating that it’s a major contender for Game of the Year 2022. While the Souls-like game indulges many gamers’ single-player fantasies, the challenging adventure also includes plenty of multiplayer features to boot. Players will interact with antagonistic Tarnished invading their game world but can also summon allies to aid them in defeating harrowing bosses. Even more, Elden Ring’s messaging system produces both hysterics and frustrations.
While exploring the world of Elden Ring, The Tarnished will come into contact with hoards of enemies, challenging bosses, and interesting NPCs, but they’ll also stumble upon messages left by other players. Very often the messages become confusing, strange, or even dangerous communications due to the limitations FromSoftware placed on the system. Players don’t use a keyboard to formulate a message but rather use a list of words and phrases chosen by the developers. The outcome can lead to messages that are either unhelpful or downright frustrating. Many on social media have even pointed out what’s wrong with Elden Ring’s message system using memes. That said, these messages can also be helpful hints about an area, clues on how to defeat a boss or just an encouraging sentiment for struggling players.
