Sega studio Creative Assembly has revealed a new Hyenas map alongside upcoming test dates for the multiplayer science fiction FPS.
Viewable in the trailer below, new map ‘We Took Manhattan’ is billed as a celebration of all things New York.
It will be playable during the game’s next alpha test, which will take place between 9am PT / 5pm GMT on January 20 and 1am PT / 9am GMT on January 23.
Creative Assembly said the new map offers more compact combat than the previous alpha map ‘Greed is Good’.
The Statue of Liberty, which is the map’s main centrepiece, is located in its large and busy central zone. Around the map’s edges are four cargo modules, each with their own unique landmark providing different cover and combat opportunities.
Following this weekend’s alpha, further tests will be held from February 17-20, March 10-13 and March 31 to April 3. PC players interested in participating can register here.
Announced last June, Hyenas is a robbery and extraction shooter which sees five teams of three battle AI and each other to steal loot from vast ‘Plunderships’ with zero-g sections.
Full of pop culture references including nods to not just classic Sega franchises but third-party games too, it’s scheduled to release for Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PS5, PS4 and PC in 2023.
