Assassin's Creed is a series that has taken gamers all the way from Ancient Greece to the streets of Victorian England, and while each of those historical settings has come with their own interesting protagonist, plenty of fans of the franchise would still list Ezio Auditore among their favorite playable characters. Picking up the story of the Auditore family in Assassin's Creed 2, Ezio was featured in the next two installments of the franchise, with his story not ending until Assassin's Creed: Embers, a movie set after the events of Assassin's Creed: Revelations.
Ezio has proven to be such a popular figure from the franchise that the trilogy of games related to him received their own remakes in Assassin's Creed: The Ezio Collection. From this popularity of the Italian assassin, it is safe to say that many fans would want to see a return of one of the series' most famed protagonists. Thanks to a recent image, many are now wondering if an Ezio return could be in the works. The voice actor who played Ezio, Roger Craig Smith, posted an image to his Twitter recently which showed him outside Ubisoft's offices.

Specifically, Smith was outside the Ubisoft Montreal studio, where the Assassin's Creed franchise is developed. This immediately had fans believing that another project featuring Ezio could be on the way. As Ezio is one of Assassin's Creed's most prominent and popular characters, it isn't too farfetched to see a return from him even though it has been nearly a decade since his story saw its conclusion.
Many have anticipated that the release of Assassin's Creed Infinity will see the remaking of some older games in the franchise.
