Activision Blizzard says it hasn't discussed Kotick's future with Xbox
pcgamesinsider.bizUS publishing giant Activision Blizzard has said that the future of its CEO, Robert Kotick (pictured), has not been discussed as part of its acquisition by Microsoft.
That's according to an updated filing with the SEC about the deal – as spotted by Axios' Stephen Totilo – in which the Call of Duty giant says that there have been no talks about whether the chief exec is going to be leaving the company.
"No discussions or negotiations regarding post-closing employment arrangements with Microsoft occurred between Microsoft and Mr Kotick prior to the approval and execution of the merger agreement and the transactions contemplated thereby, or have occurred subsequent to such approval and execution, through the date hereof," Activision Blizzard wrote.
Previous reports have suggested that the embattled CEO would be leaving the role after Activision Blizzard is bought by Microsoft. Kotick is set to receive at least $14 billion in the form of a golden parachute were he to be ejected following the deal.
The filing also references the SEC investigation into Activision Blizzard as well as other legal difficulties that the company is facing.
In January, the Big M announced its intention to buy Activision Blizzard for a record-breaking $68.7 billion.
