A video of a beach attack scene marks the beginning of filming for the Godzilla vs. Kong sequel. The upcoming film will be the latest in Legendary's kaiju cinematic franchise, MonsterVerse. Beginning in 2014 with Gareth Edwards' Godzilla, the film was followed by the Kong: Skull Island prequel, Godzilla: King of the Monsters (2019), and theGodzilla vs. Kong match-up in 2021. Following a delay from its original November 2020 release date, the latest MonsterVerse film was released the following year and did relatively well within the pandemic-restricted box office, pulling in over $470 million. That was impressive figure considering the fact that the film was also released on HBO Max simultaneously.
