Nightwing's Biggest Failure Is So Much Worse Than Fans Remember
Batman’s former sidekick Nightwing has made his fair share of mistakes in his career, but his biggest failure may be the destruction of Bludhaven. After leaving Batman’s employ, Dick Grayson moved to Bludhaven, a city near Gotham whose corruption may even surpass Gotham’s. While Nightwing worked hard to improve Bludhaven, he was unable to prevent its destruction at the hands of the Secret Society of Super-Villains during 2005’s Infinite Crisis. However, Dick had been working with Society member Deathstroke to establish Bludhaven as neutral ground, naively believing keeping the villains and heroes out would make the city safer. His real mistake was not continuing to infiltrate the Secret Society where he could have anticipated their plans earlier. Unfortunately, this decision cost him his city and countless innocent lives.
