Showtime has shared the first five minutes of its new show, The Man Who Fell to Earth. The series, starring Golden Globe winner Chiwetel Ejiofor, was developed by Alex Kurtzman and Jenny Lumet. Based on Walter Tevis’ 1963 novel by the same name, the sci-fi project marks the second adaptation of the source material after David Bowie’s classic 1976 film, directed by Nicolas Roeg. The Man Who Fell to Earth follows an alien (Ejiofor) who arrives on planet Earth during a pivotal point in history, hoping to save his own species from extinction.
