Christopher Nolan's Oppenheimer looks like it's set to begin filming very soon. Widely celebrated as one of modern cinema's most innovative directors, Nolan has also proved himself to be one of the most financially lucrative filmmakers of the 21st century. His newest film will examine the life of J. Robert Oppenheimer, an American theoretical physicist who was instrumental in the development of the very first nuclear weapons. Frequent Nolan collaborator Cillian Murphy will be portraying the titular «father of the atomic bomb.» Oppenheimer additionally boasts an impressive supporting cast, with Emily Blunt, Matt Damon, Robert Downey Jr, Florence Pugh, and Rami Malek also confirmed for the biopic.
