J.K. Simmons says the Batgirl movie will explore Jim Gordon as a father to the titular heroine and praises Leslie Grace's performance. The Oscar winner first brought the Gotham City Police Commissioner to life with the theatrical cut of the DC Extended Universe's Justice League, in which he briefly appeared to talk with Batman to learn of the world-threatening enemies in the metropolitan city. He would return for Zack Snyder's extended version of the film released on HBO Max last year.
