We've had a lot of rampant success stories recently, ranging from small indie titles such as Palworld, to behemoths such as Larian Studios and Baldur's Gate 3.
Some developers have been unfortunate to get swept up a little in the social media frenzy surrounding these titles, and the topic of Starfield's close launch next to Baldur's Gate 3 was brought up in a recent interview with Bethesda's Todd Howard.
While you might assume that there may be a little bit of bad blood there, with Baldur's Gate 3 undeniably sucking a little bit of hype out of Starfield's launch, Howard has nothing but praise for Larian Studios.
Speaking with Kinda Funny (thanks GameSpot), Howard says that it's wrong to sa that Larian achieved "overnight success" with Baldur's Gate 3 and pointed to some of the studio's other titles, such as the Divinity series.
As for Baldur's Gate 3, Howard says that Larian has done a "tremendous job" with the game's launch, and had nothing but praise regarding "how they go about their work," and "how they talk about it." That's a pretty massive thumbs up from one of the gaming industry's leading figures, and Howard even admits that games like Baldur's Gate 3 do influence and inspire developers at Bethesda.
