The next free Epic Games Store title will be a ‘mystery game’

The next free Epic Games Store title hasn’t been revealed as usual, with Epic instead announcing plans to offer a “mystery game.”The mystery title will replace Circus Electrique, which is currently free to claim on Epic’s PC marketplace until May 16.“Named for an alternate-history London’s most famous entertainment, Circus Electrique combines enthralling, story-driven RPG tactics and circus management with a steampunk twist,” reads a description of the game.“When everyday Londoners mysteriously turn into vicious killers, only Circus Electrique’s talented performers can save the city.”Players who log in to the free-to-play game Firestone: Online Idle RPG this week though Epic Games Store can also claim a selection of in-game items for free including avatars, gems and chests.The Epic Games Store had more than 270 million customers in 2023, and 75 million monthly active users in December, according to the Fortnite maker.Players spent $950 million on the Epic Games Store last year, including $310 million on third-party titles.Epic gave away 86 free titles in 2023 (down from 99 in 2022).

These games had a combined worth of $2,055, and users claimed almost 586 million free titles (down from 700 million in 2022).May’s ‘free’ games with Amazon Prime Gaming include Tomb Raider Game of the Year Edition, Lego Star Wars 3: The Clone Wars and Fallout 3: Game of the Year Edition.
