Robert De Niro’s President Mullen Rushes to His Safe in Zero Day Sneak Peek

Netflix has released a sneak peek of , a new conspiracy thriller series starring Robert De Niro. In Zero Day, De Niro plays George Mullen, a former U.S.

president who comes out of retirement to lead the Zero Day Commission, an investigation into the nation’s deadliest cyberattack. “Disinformation runs rampant and the personal ambitions of power brokers in technology, Wall Street, and government collide,” the Netflix synopsis reads. “Mullen’s unwavering search for the truth forces him to confront his own dark secrets while risking all he holds dear.” Watch the opening scene sneak peek below (watch more clips and trailers): In the video, President Mullen is frantically racing to open a safe in his office as someone knocks on the door outside the room.

Mullen eventually drops an old photo and stares at the date, which reads April 29, 1975. Once Mullen opens his safe, someone breaks through the door and the video ends.

Besides De Niro, Zero Day stars Angela Bassett as Evelyn Mitchell,the current U.S. president; Jesse Plemons as Roger Carlson, Mullen’s former aide; Lizzy Caplan as Alexandra Mullen, a New York congressional representative who happens to be Mullen’s daughter; Connie Britton as Valerie Whitesell, Mullen’s former chief of staff; Joan Allen as Sheila Mullen,the former first lady; Matthew Modine as Richard Dreyer, the Speaker of the House; and Bill Camp as Jeremy Lasch, the Director of the CIA.

Zero Day stars Dan Stevens, McKinley Belcher III, Gaby Hoffmann, Clark Gregg, and Mark Ivanir. Zero Day is created by Eric Newman, Noah Oppenheim, and Michael Schmidt.
