Focus Features has announced the official Peacock release date for its latest gothic horror movie led by Bill Skarsgård (It movies) as Count Orlok.
The film was based on 1922’s classic silent vampire movie of the same name. After Nosferatu, Skarsgard will next be seen in a few movies, including the horror thriller Locked with Anthony Hopkins, the adventure drama The Death of Robin Hood with Hugh Jackman and Jodie Comer, and the crime thriller Lords of War with Nicolas Cage.
The Swedish actor is also set to reprise his iconic role as Pennywise the Clown in HBO’s upcoming prequel IT: Welcome to Derry.
Nosferatu will finally be available for streaming starting on February 21, exclusively on Peacock. Since making its theatrical release last December, the movie has received positive reviews from critics.
It currently holds a Certified Fresh rating of 85% on Rotten Tomatoes. The horror thriller is also currently nominated for four Oscars, including Best Cinematography, Best Costume Design, Best Production Design, and Best Makeup and Hairstyling. “The film is a gothic tale of obsession between a haunted young woman and the terrifying vampire infatuated with her, causing untold horror in its wake,” reads the film’s official synopsis.
