A gamer scored an amazing deal on eight Nintendo 64 cartridges via their local Facebook Marketplace and shared pictures and details of the games they purchased for $40.

The N64 fan said that of the games they got, onlyPokemon Snap, Pokemon Stadium, and Super Smash Bros. were duplicate cartridges, which left them with five new titles for their collection.

Originally released in 1996, the N64 was Nintendo's third home console. Though it competed with the PlayStation and the Sega Saturn, which both used a CD-ROM format for their games, the N64 stuck to using cartridges during its shelf life.

In addition to the cartridges, the N64's unique controller allowed players to use accessories such as a Rumble Pak for haptic feedback, or a Transfer Pak to connect with specific Game Boy games such as Pokemon Red and Blue.

Throughout the N64's life, the console was home to hit titles each year of its availability, and titles such as Super Mario 64 and The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask remain among the most popular entries in their respective series.
