Jordana Brewster has starred in a number of high-profile projects throughout her Hollywood career, but before the actress became a star, she got her start in the world of soap operas, which she says is a surprisingly great way to experience the world of acting.
Speaking to ComingSoon in a recent interview about her most recent film, Cellar Door, Brewster opened up about her time on various television soap operas.
Brewster said that working on them teaches actors a lot of “technical stuff,” and the stakes being so low helps. “Well, you’re learning, you have like one day to prepare like eight pages of dialogue.
So you have to learn the dialogue and adhere to it. Then you have to get used to cameras and hitting your mark. So it teaches you a lot of the technical stuff.
Also, the stakes are low because it airs, and then it’s gone forever. So it’s really a great playground for actors.” Brewster first debuted in the world of acting on a 1995 episode of the hit soap opera All My Children.
