Among the many early access titles launched last year, GreedFall 2: The Dying World was one that had its share of problems. Developer Spiders made numerous improvements, but it’s going the distance for update 0.2.
Previously set for Autumn, it was delayed to allow for more polish and a closed beta test. The latter has since wrapped, and though it’s not yet ready to announce a release date, the developer confirmed a final test in the next two weeks. “Depending on the level of satisfaction of our teams and the Beta Testing group of players, we will be able to give a date for the update.” It’s massive, adding a new region (Olima), a new companion, new weapons and skills, additional regional quests, The Hub, and more.
The combat system receives several long-awaited improvements, including faster animations when starting and chaining attacks, longer ranges, and a “close camera” for real-time combat.
Even the UI is better with icons and improved visual feedback for effects and damage. There will be more details, particularly about Olima, next week, so stay tuned.
