Netflix’s is out now on the streaming platform, and its cast recently settled the debate on whether or not the action movie is actually a Christmas movie or not.
The film, which stars Taron Egerton, Sofia Carson, Danielle Deadwyler, and Jason Bateman, takes place in Los Angeles International Airport on Christmas Eve, placing it in the same vain as movies like Die Hard.
Speaking to ComingSoon, Egerton, Carson, and Deadwyler all chime in on where the movie stands. “I think so,” said Egerton. “I think it’s a Christmas film if it makes you feel like it’s Christmas.
Die Hard makes me feel like it’s Christmas. So for that reason, I think it’s a Christmas film.” Danielle Deadwyler was unsure if audiences would even be old enough to remember the debates that raged around Die Hard’s status as a Christmas movie, but did note that the film is a mix of both. “Are people even gonna be old enough?
A lot of people, generationally, are they gonna be able to be like, ‘Is this a Christmas movie? Is this an action movie?’ It is a Christmas and an action movie,” Deadwyler said.
