Brian Cox (Succession), Henry Winkler (Barry), Emma Roberts (We’re the Millers), and Evan Rachel Wood (Westworld) have officially signed for the leading roles in Neon‘s upcoming buddy comedy movie titled,.
The project hails from Emmy winner Wendey Stanzler (Sex and the City, Parks and Recreation). Following his award-winning performance in Succession, Cox’s most recent projects were last year’s animated movies That Christmas and The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim.
He will next be seen in the upcoming action sci-fi The Electric State with Millie Bobby Brown, the horror comedy The Parenting with Edie Falco and Lisa Kudrow, and the drama Glenrothan with Alan Cumming.
Meanwhile, Winkler is currently attached to star in the action movie Normal with Bob Odenkirk and Lena Headey. “The film follows comical opposites and recent widowers, Ira (Winkler) and Jimmy (Cox), who are forced to become friends by their conspiring daughters (Roberts & Wood),” reads the film’s official synopsis. “Their initial stubbornness gives way to a hilarious journey of unexpected friendship, proving that family has a way of bringing even the most unlikely people together.” Old Pals will be directed by Stanzler from a screenplay written by Rick Cisario.
The film will be produced by Debbie Liebling for Inner Child Productions, alongside Kim Bailey and Isabel Marden for Corporate Witchcraft.
