Sonic the Hedgehog 3 took off at the this past weekend. This past weekend saw the wide release of both Paramount’s Sonic the Hedgehog 3 and Disney’s Mufasa: The Lion King.
Per Deadline, Sonic easily won the domestic box office weekend as it brought in approximately $62 million. Mufasa, meanwhile, underperformed as it was expected to make around $50 million but only brought in $35 million.
Wicked and Moana 2, meanwhile, are continuing to add to their box office totals, while Angel’s Homestead brought in $6 million.
Kraven the Hunter and The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim both had significant drops during the second week of release, with the Sony Spider-Man Universe flick bringing in $3.1 million and the animated Warner Bros.
