Even in the absence of any paid expansions, Larian Studios’ post-launch support for Baldur’s Gate 3 has been spectacular, and that’s set to continue as we head into 2025.
Though the developer is now focused on its next major projects, it’s also continuing to work on major features that will be added to Baldur’s Gate 3 for free.
Patch 8 is set to arrive at some point next year, and as previously confirmed, in addition to cross-play and a dozen new subclasses, it will also add a long-requested feature in the form of a Photo Mode.
As detailed in a Steam post, Baldur’s Gate 3’s Photo Mode is going to be a robust one, with a number of tools on offer. You will, of course, have free camera control, while you will also be able to place any and all characters in your party (including summons and those in a Wild Shape) in the shot and adjust their positioning as you see fit.
Various lens settings will also be included, such as field of view, depth of field, focus, and exposure, while several scene settings will be offered as well.
