Stardew Valley Update 1.6 Out Now, Includes 8-Player Multiplayer, New Festival, and More

The much-anticipated 1.6 update for Stardew Valley is finally out now on PC. As part of the update, a host of new content has been added to the game, including a major new festival, new mini festivals, an environmental event, a new skill system for the endgame, and a new farm type, among many other features. For more details, check out the full patch notes below.

Along with all the new content, Stardew Valley now also allows for up to 8-player multiplayer. This comes along with performance improvements for the multiplayer, including improvements to bandwidth usage and latency through optimisation. The game has also gotten quite a few balance changes, like adjusted pricing for items, or penalties faced by players that get knocked unconscious.

Developer Eric “ConcernedApe” Barone has been providing hints and teases about the update for quite some time now. A recent tease by the developer indicated that the update would be much weightier than players would be expecting. This followed from a statement by Barone back in January where he revealed that the update’s scope grew larger than originally intended during development.

Stardew Valley is available on just about every platform out there. The game has been quite successful, having sold 30 million copies as of last month.
