There's basically nothing to know about the next game, to the extent that even its title has become a subject of contention. Confirmed to be in development since at least 2020, there's no question that a sequel in BioWare's flagship sci-fi RPG franchise is coming. With the lack of DLC for , many longtime fans hope the new is BioWare's biggest focus, impatiently waiting for each new morsel of information to break the long silence.
Their impatience isn't totally unjustified, either; the last game in the franchise,, was as wildly unpopular for its departure from the original trilogy as it was for its rampant glitches and bugs. That was seven years ago now, and, apart from a cryptic two-minute teaser and a laughably nondescript poster, they still don't know anything about the sequel (if it even is a sequel). That said, there's no reason to believe the next has been canceled. But what will it be called when it finally comes out?
The simple fact of the matter is that numbering conventions are complicated because of the way the series distinguishes its original trilogy from the most recent sequel. The first three titles were named normally, even uncreatively: in 2007, in 2010, and finally, in 2012.
There are many reasons to believe that Shepard would be alive In Mass Effect 4 but there's just as many reasons to prove that they are dead.
These games were numbered consecutively for a reason:they all revolve around the life and times of one Commander Shepard, of the Systems Alliance Navy. Although created entirely by the player, Shepard is a recurring figure throughout all three games in the original trilogy. Players have the opportunity to transfer their save files from one game to the next, carrying over Shepard's custom appearance, background, and major story decisions (or "," a concept later borrowed by the series, albeit in a different form).
Although separate, the first three games are not standalone, and are meant to be played in sequence. Shepard's life unfolds
