John Wick director Chad Stahelski will direct Michael B. Jordan in the Tom Clancy sequel Rainbow Six as a follow-up to 2021’s Without Remorse.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Jordan will reprise the role of Navy SEAL and CIA operative John Clark, who has appeared in numerous Tom Clancy novels, first in the Jack Ryan series, then in his own spinoffs like Without Remorse and Rainbow Six.
The movie will adapt from the same novels that Ubisoft has based its video game series on. In an interview with IGN, Jordan described Without Remorse as a more personal story, but a sequel could be more action-packed and skew closer to the same material covered in the video games.
Stahelski has directed each John Wick movie since the film series began in 2014 and has become one of the best action directors in Hollywood.
Without Remorse was an origin story for Jordan’s portrayal of Clark and was released on Amazon during the pandemic. However, Paramount is said to be releasing Rainbow Six in theaters.
IGN's review of Without Remorse praised Jordan's performance, even if the plotting was a bit formulaic.
Alongside Rainbow Six, Stahelski is involved with a remake of Highlander starring Henry Cavill and will produce the John Wick spinoff Ballerina, starring Ana de Armas.
