Death of a Unicorn Trailer: Jenna Ortega & Paul Rudd Are Hunted Down in A24 Movie
A24 has shared the official trailer for its newest horror comedy, starring Golden Globe nominees Jenna Ortega and Paul Rudd. The film will have its world premiere at the upcoming 2025 South by Southwest Festival, followed by its theatrical release on March 28.

The video features Rudd and Ortega as Elliot and Ridley, a father-and-daughter duo who suddenly encounter a mythical creature after accidentally hitting it with their car. Unbeknownst to them, this incident will lead to deadly consequences as they are hunted down by an angry and wild unicorn.
Death of a Unicorn is written and directed by Alex Scharfman. The film will also star Will Poulter, Téa Leoni, Richard E. Grant, Anthony Carrigan, Sunita Mani, Jessica Hynes, and Steve Park. It is executive produced by Orterga, Rudd, Ari Aster, David Darby, Jacob Epstein, Nate Kamiya, and Michael Williams, with Tyler Campellone, Tim Headington, Drew Houpt, Lucas Joaquin, Lars Knudsen, Theresa Steele Page, Barbara Reardon, Justin Reardon, and Alex Scharfman. The creative team also includes cinematographer Larry Fong and editor Ron Dulin, with composers Giosuè Greco and Dan Romer providing the music.
“A father (Rudd) and daughter (Ortega) accidentally hit and kill a unicorn while en route to a weekend retreat, where his billionaire boss (Grant) seeks to exploit the creature’s miraculous curative properties,” reads the official synopsis.
