Hazelight Studios is currently fully focused on the imminently-releasing Split Fiction, but unsurprisingly, the developer’s acclaimed 2021 title, It Takes Two, still looms large in everyone’s memory.
But is there a chance that we could ever see a direct follow-up to the co-op platformer? Hazelight is a team that prides itself on always chasing after new and inventive ideas, after all- but could a sequel to It Takes Two ever be on the cards?
Surprisingly enough, the answer isn’t an unequivocal no. Speaking in a recent interview with MinnMax, when asked about which of his games he would make a sequel to if he had to, Fares picked It Takes Two.
As to whether that’s an actual possibility? At the very least, it doesn’t look like it’s an impossibility. “Who knows, man?
You never know the future at Hazelight,” he said. It Takes Two has sold over 20 million units worldwide since releasing in 2021, so it’s safe to assume that there’s a sizeable audience out there who’ll be happy to return for a sequel.
