Electronic Arts has released its Q4 2024 earnings, and overall, it was a solid 12 months for the company. Overall, EA has brought in revenue or $7.43 billion, up 1 percent over FY2023, with both EA Sports FC 24 and Madden NFL 24 having record-setting years in terms of revenue generated (Madden was the best-selling entry in the series since the early 2000s).

During the Q4 earnings call, EA CEO Andrew Wilson also provided a bit of an update on the next entry in the Battlefield, which is being made by the “largest […] team in franchise history” and will be, in Wilson’s estimation, “another tremendous live service.” Related Story Battlefield 2042 Support Winding Down, Motive Joining BF Team but Iron Man Still Happening"This is the largest Battlefield team in franchise history.

A few weeks ago, I was visiting with the teams, I couldn't be more excited about what they showed, and what they were able to play. […] I’ve just spent a whole bunch of time with the collective Battlefield team playing what they’re building and it is going to be another tremendous live service.” For those who haven’t been keeping up, EA recently shuttered startup studio Ridgeline Games, which was working on story content for the next Battlefield, and instead assigned Montreal’s Motive Studios to the task.

They’ll join the Battlefield 2042 team of DICE, Criterion, and Ripple Effect Studios in producing the next Battlefield title.

While the next Battlefield is a big priority for EA, and apparently in some sort of playable state, don’t expect it this year.
