World of Tanks developer Wargaming has announced the launch of its biggest fundraising initiative in support of Ukraine with its WargamingUnitied project. The drive will raise funds to help purchase ambulance cars for Ukrainian medics.
The ongoing Russia-Ukraine War has continued to impact World of Warships developer Wargaming, especially as the company still has a studio headquartered in Kyiv working on the company's various titles. Over the past year and a half, Wargaming has donated to help Ukrainian civilians caught up in the throes of war, as well as donations to help with medical assistance and equipment, including a $250,000 USD donation in August.
The company is ramping up its charity efforts to help those affected by the war in Ukraine by launching its largest charity effort to date: WargamingUnited.
«Here at Wargaming, we love war games, but we loathe real war,» the company said in a press release this morning. «And this subject has been especially sensitive for us, as we have a whole studio back in Kyiv that works hard on World of Tanks and other products despite all the horrors their country is living through every day.»
The new charity initiative will launch across six games: World of Tanks, World of Tanks Blitz, World of Tanks Modern Armor, World of Warships, World of Warships: Legends, and World of Warplanes. Each game included will have a special Ukraine-themed bundle created by the Wargaming Kyiv studio. 100% of every purchased WargamingUnited bundle will go to Unted24, the official fundraising platform of Ukraine.
Wargaming states that the goal of this fundraiser is to help purchase «C-type ambulances that will take on the duty to save lives.»
