Nintendo Switch 2 Rumored to Be Ready for March-April 2025 Launch

New day, new Nintendo Switch 2 rumor. Spanish website Vandal reports some statements relayed to the latest episode of the Vandal Radio podcast by Ruben Mercado, CEO of Blade, a company that makes gaming accessories and peripherals.

According to Mercado, the development of the Nintendo Switch 2 is complete, and his company already had access to near-final units of the hardware. Mercado also said the planned release window is between March and April 2025. He speculates that the former may be needed to bolster sales before the end of the fiscal year, but if that turns out to be unnecessary due to solid financial figures, Nintendo might just wait for April instead.

Blade's CEO briefly mentioned the new JoyCon controllers, which will be magnetic and feature a lock that keeps them firmly attached to the Nintendo Switch 2. Ruben also appears to have teased that the analog sticks might differ from the old ones, as his company won't be able to reuse those they have produced for the current Switch console.

Finally, Mercado confirmed that Nintendo is planning a global launch (not that there were many doubts on this subject). He couldn't share any definitive information about the price, though he speculates it might be between $400 and $500.

Over the last week, we've learned that the battery life of the Nintendo Switch 2 might be excellent and that there's a solid chance the console will be backward compatible. Moreover, Nintendo Representative Director Shigeru Miyamoto commented on the company's uniqueness, asking gamers to avoid dragging it into the so-called 'performance console war.' This might be a way for such a key public figure to lower expectations on the hardware's computing power, which is believed to be far lower than that of the Xbox Series S (albeit with some advantages, such as built-in NVIDIA DLSS Super Resolution and Ray Reconstruction support).

We'll know for sure soon,
